I am a son of an Arab who lived in Zanzibar. I was born in 1965, after the revolution. I don't understand why would people want a change to a beautiful life! And why did the revolution start outside Zanzibar by people who had no connections at all to the island? To me & to many people who lived in Zanzibar, the main reason for the revolution was to remove the Sultan, the Arabs, and indeed, Islam! The same people who engineered the revolution, started smearing the Arabs and spreading lies about them to obscure the true beautiful life which existed during their rule. To date, many of the African Zanzibaris admit how life was beautiful during the Sultan Era, never again experienced after the revolution.
